Freddie Freeman grounded a two-run single up the middle to cap a three-run ninth inning against closer Brian Wilson and the Atlanta Braves rallied for a 5-4 victory over the San Francisco Giants on Monday at Turner Field.

It was the Braves' major league-leading 21st win in their final at-bat and extended their National League wild-card lead to five games over the defending World Series champions.

Wilson (6-4) allowed three singles and two walks in the ninth for his fifth blown save. He was trying to match Atlanta's Craig Kimbrel for the major league lead with his 36th save.

The Giants took a 4-2 lead on Nate Schierholtz's tiebreaking home run in the sixth inning and Mike Fontenot's solo shot in the eighth, putting Madison Bumgarner in line for his second consecutive victory. Bumgarner allowed two runs over seven innings.

Braves starter Tim Hudson extended his streak of consecutive quality starts to 11 but did not get a decision. He allowed four runs (two earned) over eight innings.

Brian McCann hit a solo homer for the Braves in his second game since coming off the disabled list.
