Freddie Freeman hit a two-run homer and Brian McCann also homered as the Atlanta Braves beat the host Seattle Mariners 3-1 on Monday.

McCann led off the seventh with his third hit and Freeman hit a booming one-out homer to center field off Erik Bedard (4-6) to snap a 1-1 tie.

Brandon Beachy (3-1) gave up one run and three hits in six innings. He struck out nine and walked just one.

Four Atlanta relievers blanked the Mariners over the final three innings with Craig Kimbrel striking out the side in the ninth for his 21st save.

McCann hit his 14th homer in the first inning for Atlanta. He leads all National League catchers in homers.

Seattle’s Adam Kennedy tied the score with a solo shot in the fourth.

Mike Carp had two of the Mariners’ five hits. The Braves also finished with five hits.

Bedard gave up three runs and four hits in seven innings.
