Jair Jurrjens outdueled Cole Hamels and received home run support from three teammates as the Atlanta Braves recorded a 5-2 victory over the Philadelphia Phillies on Sunday at Citizens Bank Park.

Jurrjens (4-0) scattered eight hits and allowed only one run in 6 1/3 innings.

After allowing a one-out hit, reliever Eric O’Flaherty entered the game and got Jimmy Rollins to ground into a double play to end the seventh inning. Jonny Venters permitted one run in the eighth - only the second run he’s allowed all season - and Craig Kimbrel pitched a scoreless ninth to pick up his eighth save of the season.

Hamels (4-2) saw his four-game winning streak come to an end. He allowed three runs and five hits in seven innings and struck out a season-high nine.

The difference for Atlanta was three home runs, the first two off Hamels. Alex Gonzalez hit a two-run shot to left field in the second inning and rookie Freddie Freeman belted a long homer to center field in the fifth.

The Braves tacked on two more runs in the eighth when pinch hitter Eric Hinske blasted a two-run homer to deep right field off reliever Michael Stutes.

Atlanta won two of three games in the series and has now won seven of its last eight.
