Adam Lind belted a two-run homer to highlight his four-hit night and Brandon Morrow tossed six-plus strong innings as the Toronto Blue Jays recorded a 3-2 road victory over the Tampa Bay Rays on Wednesday.

Lind didn't waste any time extending his hitting streak to nine games as he touched Tampa Bay starter Jeff Niemann (1-4) for his sixth homer of the season in the first inning. The two-run shot gave Lind five homers and 13 RBIs during the hitting streak (18-for-37).

David Cooper doubled his RBI total for the campaign with a run-scoring double in the fourth inning for Toronto, which improved to 5-4 on its current 10-game road trip.

The offensive outburst proved just enough for Morrow (1-1), who allowed one run and five hits while striking out seven in 6 1/3 innings. Jason Frasor and Marc Rzepczynski bridged the gap to Frank Francisco, who overcame Sam Fuld's RBI single in the ninth to secure his first save of the season.

Conversely, Niemann had trouble getting out of the blocks and eventually left the contest with back stiffness. The 6-foot-9 righthander permitted three runs and six hits in four innings to take the loss.

The reigning American League player of the week, Tampa Bay's Ben Zobrist extended his hitting streak to 10 games with a double to lead off the sixth inning. Zobrist scored on Matt Joyce's sacrifice fly later in the frame.
