Edwin Encarnacion homered, doubled and drove in a pair of runs to power the Toronto Blue Jays to an 8-5 victory over the visiting Baltimore Orioles on Thursday night.
Rookie Eric Thames also homered and had two RBIs and J.P. Arencibia had a two-run double as Toronto won the rubber match of the three-game series.
Carlos Villanueva (6-2) earned his first win since June 25 despite a shaky five-inning effort. He allowed four runs on six hits.
Colby Rasmus, acquired from the St. Louis Cardinals on Wednesday as part of an 11-player trade, went 0-for-5 with two strikeouts in his Toronto debut.
Brad Bergesen (2-6) lasted just three innings for the Orioles, surrendering six runs – four earned – on six hits.
J.J. Hardy hit a pair of solo homers, Vladimir Guerrero added a solo blast and Adam Jones had a two-run single for Baltimore, which dropped to 2-11 on the road in July.
