Alex Rodriguez hit a grand slam and drove in a season-high six runs to lead the Yankees to a 15-3 rout of the Orioles on Saturday night.

Rodriguez’s eighth-inning blast was his 22nd career - one behind Yankee legend Lou Gehrig's all-time record - and just one of five home runs for New York (11-6), which has launched a league-leading 35 on the year.

Russell Martin clocked two long balls, Jorge Posada hit his sixth and Brett Gardner added his first of the season. Martin has six homers this season - one more than he hit all of last season with the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Baltimore starter Brad Bergesen (0-3) was roughed up for six earned runs on eight hits with two walks in six innings.

CC Sabathia (1-1) earned his first win for the Yankees, allowing three earned runs on six hits with seven strikeouts in eight innings to improve to 15-2 against the Orioles. The left-hander retired the first 11 batters and carried a two-hitter into the seventh before Adam Jones hit a three-run homer.
