Prince Fielder had two home runs while Yovani Gallardo added a solo shot and the Milwaukee Brewers slugged their way to a 7-5 victory over the Houston Astros on Tuesday night.

Gallardo started the Brewers’ home run parade – and supported himself – with a solo home run in the third. Fielder launched a two-run home run later in the inning to give the Brewers a 3-0 lead.

Milwaukee extended its lead to 5-0 in the fourth with a two-run single from Rickie Weeks.

The Astros started to chip away in the fifth, with a two-run single from Michael Bourn and an RBI single from Lance Berkman, but just when Houston started to get back in the game Fielder launched a solo shot in the bottom half of the frame.

Both teams exchanged solo home runs in the sixth. Pedro Feliz went deep for Houston, while Jonathan Lucroy blasted Milwaukee’s fourth homer of the game.

Berkman had an RBI double in the ninth to pull the Astros to within two at 7-5 but that was as close as they would come.

Gallardo (8-3) picked up the victory for Milwaukee after going six innings, allowing four runs (all earned) on seven hits with two walks and five strikeouts.

Houston starter Brett Myers (5-6) went six innings, allowing seven runs (all earned) on nine hits with two walks and five strikeouts.
