Xavier Paul delivered the tie-breaking single in the sixth inning and the Los Angeles relievers pitched preserved the lead for four innings as the Dodgers beat the Colorado Rockies 4-3 Sunday afternoon.

Los Angeles won two of the three games in the series, giving it nine consecutive series wins against the Rockies.

Casey Blake led off the sixth with a double and scored on Paul’s single to right to make the score 3-2. Paul stole second and later scored on Blake DeWitt’s infield grounder to extend the lead.

Clayton Kershaw (5-3) struck out nine in five innings before giving away to the bullpen trio of Ramon Troncoso, Hong-Chih Kuo and Ronald Belisario, who each pitched a hitless inning to get to closer Jonathan Broxton.

The Rockies scored once against Broxton in the ninth on Carlos Gonzalez’s fielder’s choice before Broxton retired Ryan Spilborghs for his 13th save of the season.

James Loney drove in the first two Los Angeles runs, doubling home Matt Kemp in the first and hitting a third-inning sacrifice fly.

Troy Tulowitzki and Chris Iannetta each had run-scoring singles in the first for the Rockies.

Kershaw gave up two runs and four hits before leaving. Colorado starter Jhouyls Chacin (3-3) gave up four runs and seven hits in 5 1/3 innings.
