Pinch hitter Brooks Conrad belted a grand slam in an eight-run eighth inning as the Atlanta Braves rallied for a 10-5 victory over the Florida Marlins on Saturday.

Martin Prado homered and Eric Hinske drove in a pair of runs for the Braves, who rebounded from Friday’s 7-6 loss.

Atlanta avoided losing just its second series since May 10. The Braves trailed 5-2 after seven innings, but they sent 12 to the plate in the decisive eighth.

Atlanta tied it on Hinske’s two-run single and Conrad snapped the tie with a his second career grand slam off Burke Badenhop, the Marlins’ third pitcher of the inning. Chipper Jones capped the frame with an RBI groundout.

Jesse Chavez (2-1) threw a flawless seventh before Jonny Venters worked the final two innings.

Dan Uggla and Mike Stanton homered for the Marlins, who were trying to move above .500 for the first time since June 3. Uggla’s two-run homer in the third put Florida ahead 4-2 and Stanton extended the lead to three runs with his seventh home run of the season in the sixth.

Jhan Marinez (1-1), who replaced Taylor Tankersley in the eighth, took the loss.
