Martin Prado’s first career grand slam highlighted a six-run sixth inning and Tommy Hanson shut down the high-scoring Milwaukee Brewers as the Atlanta Braves rolled to an 8-2 victory on Monday.

Hanson (3-2) pitched eight scoreless innings, allowing four hits with eight strikeouts and one walk.

The Brewers had scored 51 runs in their past six games - all on the road - but struggled back at Miller Park. Casey McGehee helped them avoid a shutout with a two-run homer off Jesse Chavez in the ninth.

Milwaukee starter Doug Davis (1-4) entered the fifth without allowing a hit before Prado singled in a run.

Davis quickly fell apart in the sixth as Troy Glaus led off with a homer, Brian McCann was hit by a pitch and Melky Cabrera doubled. After Davis walked the bases loaded, Manny Parra promptly gave up Prado’s homer.

Brewers left fielder Ryan Braun was hit on the left elbow by a Hanson pitch in the fourth inning and is listed as day-to-day.
