The Atlanta Braves scored three runs in the sixth inning and held on to down the Philadelphia Phillies, 4-1, on Saturday.

Chipper Jones and Brian McCann each scored a run and Eric Hinske added an RBI double for the Braves, who had lost three of four entering the contest.

One night after getting shut out by 47-year-old Jamie Moyer, Atlanta appeared as if its bats were going to go silent again as Phillies starter Joe Blanton took a no-hitter into the fifth inning.

But Blanton (0-2) began to lose it in the sixth, allowing back-to-back singles to Jones and McCann leading off the inning. After Troy Glaus lined out for the first out, Hinske plated Jones with a double and Melky Cabrera followed with an RBI single. Omar Infante capped the frame with a sacrifice fly to score Hinske.

Glaus added an RBI single in the ninth to complete the scoring.

Atlanta rookie starter Kris Medlen allowed nine hits but only one run in 4 1/3 innings and five different relievers - including Eric O’Flaherty (2-1) - combined for 3 2/3 hitless innings before handing the ball to closer Billy Wagner, who tossed a perfect ninth for his fourth save.

Placido Polanco had three hits and Shane Victorino drove in the lone run for the Phillies, who had their four-game winning streak snapped.
