Matsui’s three-run double off Chad Billingsley (6-4) in the fifth snapped a 1-1 tie. Hunter put the Angels in the driver’s seat the following frame with a three-run double of his own off George Sherrill.

Kendrick's two-run homer in the ninth capped the scoring.
