Kris Medlen pitched into the seventh inning and Brian McCann hit a go-ahead home run as the Atlanta Braves snapped a three-game losing streak with a 3-1 victory over the Detroit Tigers Friday.

The Braves got another strong performance from Medlen (5-1) as the former reliever improved to 4-0 in nine starts in place of Jair Jurrjens, who is expected to return Wednesday.

The right-hander allowed one run and six hits in 6 2/3 innings with five strikeouts and one walk.

Three relievers bridged the gap to Billy Wagner, who struck out the side in the ninth for his 400th career save.

Rookie Brooks Conrad homered and Melky Cabrera had an RBI single for the Braves, who have won seven straight at Turner Field and 15 of 16 overall at home.

Conrad’s fourth homer of the season made it 3-1 in the eighth, giving Wagner some breathing room in the ninth. It was his 15th save in 17 chances.

Atlanta took a 2-1 lead in the fourth when McCann belted a solo shot off rookie Andrew Oliver (0-1), who was making his major-league debut. Oliver allowed two runs and five hits in six innings.

Detroit took a 1-0 lead in the first on an RBI single from rookie Brennan Boesch. The Braves responded with an RBI single from Cabrera in the second.
