Johnny Damon homered in the bottom of the ninth inning in the Detroit Tiger’s 3-2 win over the Los Angeles Angels on Saturday.

Damon’s one-out shot to right field off Scot Shields (0-1) was his first of the season. Damon went 3-for-5 and scored a pair of runs, raising his average to .344.

Brandon Inge and Miguel Cabrera both knocked in runs as Detroit won its fourth straight.

Ryan Perry (1-1) worked two-thirds of an inning for the victory.

Starter Jeremey Bonderman allowed 10 hits just two runs -- one earned -- on 10 hits and struck out four without walking a batter in the no-decision. It equaled his longest start of the year, when he allowed three runs in six innings in a start against the Angels on April 21.

An error on first baseman Miguel Cabrera gave the Angels their first run in the fourth. Brandon Wood singled home Kendry Morales in the fifth to grab a 2-1 advantage.
