Trevor Crowe hit his second home run of the season and the Cleveland Indians beat the Tampa Bay Rays 3-1 in a game Friday called in the bottom of the seventh inning because of rain.

Carlos Santana and Shin-Soo Choo each drove in runs as the Indians secured their 18th straight win over the Rays at Progressive Field.

Fausto Carmona (10-7) allowed just one hit before a 1 hour, 30 minute rain delay wiped out both starting pitchers after five innings.

The Indians scored twice off Rays starter Jeff Niemann (8-3) on a pair of RBI groundouts before Crowe’s homer off reliever Dan Wheeler in the sixth. The Rays’ lone run came on an RBI groundout in the second that scored Carlos Pena, who reached on an infield single, and momentarily tied things at 1.

Carmona dominated from there, getting seven of his 15 outs on strikeouts to hold down the Rays, who haven’t beaten the Indians in Cleveland since Sept. 28, 2005 – the longest active losing streak for any team in a visiting city.
