Bengie Molina hit for the cycle, including a grand slam, as the Texas Rangers doubled up the Boston Red Sox 8-4 on Friday night.

Molina, who was recently acquired from the San Francisco Giants, had four hits and four RBIs as the Rangers won for the second straight night. Molina became the first catcher in major league history to hit for the cycle and hit a grand slam in the same game.

Texas jumped out to a 2-0 lead on RBI singles by Ian Kinsler and Nelson Cruz. The Red Sox tied the game in the second as J.D. Drew had an RBI single and later scored on a wild pitch.

The Red Sox took a 3-2 lead on a home run by Adrian Beltre in the fourth. But Texas took control of the game with five runs in the fifth. Daniel Murphy drove in the first run on a bases-loaded walk and Molina followed with a grand slam.

Colby Lewis (9-5) picked up the win. He struck out seven in five innings, allowing three runs on four hits.

Felix Doubront (1-2) gave up seven hits and four runs - two earned - in the losing effort. Fernando Cabrera didn’t do much better, allowing three runs in relief on two hits in 1 2/3 innings.
