Raul Ibanez blasted a two-run double to highlight a four-run fourth and Cole Hamels tossed seven strong innings as the Philadelphia Phillies salvaged the finale of a three-game series with a 5-3 triumph over the Boston Red Sox on Sunday.

Jayson Werth and Juan Castro recorded an RBI single apiece and Ben Francisco added a run-scoring sacrifice fly for Philadelphia, which won for just the eighth time in 24 contests.

Hamels (6-5) allowed one run and five hits to snap a personal three-game losing skid. The 2008 World Series Most Valuable Player also struck out eight in the victory.

Jose Contreras worked out of a jam in the eighth. After former Red Sox hurler J.C. Romero struggled in the ninth, Brad Lidge closed the door for his fourth save in as many opportunities this season.

Adrian Beltre belted a solo homer, rookie Daniel Nava had an RBI single and David Ortiz scored on a passed ball for Boston, which outscored Philadelphia by a 22-4 margin in the first two games of the series.

Tim Wakefield (2-5) permitted four runs and seven hits in 7 1/3 innings to take the loss.

Boston's all-time innings leader, Wakefield was trying for his first win at Fenway in nearly one year. The 43-year-old Wakefield fell to 0-5 in 10 appearances in Beantown since defeating the Oakland Athletics on July 8, 2009.
