Pinch hitter Jason Heyward hit a tiebreaking three-run homer with two outs in the eighth inning as the Los Angeles Dodgers rallied for a 6-3 victory against the visiting Seattle Mariners on Tuesday night.

Gavin Lux and Max Muncy also went deep for the National League West-leading Dodgers, who won their third consecutive game.

Jorge Polanco drove in all three runs for the Mariners, who dropped to 1-7 on their nine-game trip that concludes Wednesday.

Dodgers reliever Joe Kelly (1-0) got the victory and Daniel Hudson worked the ninth for his 10th save.

With one out in the bottom of the eighth, Will Smith was hit with an 0-2 pitch from Mariners closer Andres Munoz (2-5). Muncy drew a walk to put runners at first and second. An out later, Heyward launched a 2-1 fastball down the right field line to cap Los Angeles' rally from a 3-0 deficit.

The Dodgers tied the score in the seventh but had the potential go-ahead run thrown out at the plate to end the inning.

Tommy Edman led off with a double to right-center off reliever Tayler Saucedo. With one out, the Mariners brought in Munoz to face Shohei Ohtani, who lined out to first.

Mookie Betts then hit a tying double that struck the chalk on the left field line. After an intentional walk to Freddie Freeman, Teoscar Hernandez grounded a single to right. Mitch Haniger's strong throw to catcher Cal Raleigh just nabbed Betts to keep the score at 3-3.

The Mariners scored twice in the first inning. With two outs, Raleigh lined a double down the left field line. Walks to Luke Raley and Randy Arozarena loaded the bases for Polanco, who lined a two-run single to right.

Seattle added a run in the third as Raleigh led off with a single to right and advanced to second on a wild pitch. With one out, Polanco lined an RBI double to left-center to make it 3-0.

The Dodgers got on the scoreboard in the fourth as Lux led off with a homer to right-center just out of the reach of leaping Victor Robles at the wall. An out later, Muncy hit a towering homer down the right field line.

Both starters lasted just four innings because of high pitch counts.

Mariners right-hander Bryce Miller allowed two runs on five hits, with two walks and five strikeouts, on 92 pitches.

Dodgers right-hander Walker Buehler threw 82 pitches, giving up three runs on seven hits with three walks and one strikeout.
