Sean Manaea struck out 10 batters in seven innings as the visiting New York Mets blanked the St. Louis Cardinals 6-0 on Monday in a makeup game stemming from a May 8 postponement.

Manaea (8-4), who allowed six hits and walked nobody, has pitched 14 scoreless innings and struck out 21 batters in his past two starts. Ryne Stanek and Edwin Diaz each pitched a hitless inning of relief to back Manaea on Monday.

Tyrone Taylor hit a three-run double and Jeff McNeil hit a solo home run and scored twice for the Mets, who rebounded after losing their previous two games.

Cardinals starting pitcher Andre Pallante (4-6) allowed five runs on five hits and two walks in 4 2/3 innings. He struck out two.

St. Louis went 0-for-7 with runners in scoring position. The Cardinals have lost four of their past five games and eight of their past 12.

The Mets took a 1-0 lead in the second inning. Pete Alonso walked with one out and Jose Iglesias lined a single into left field. After McNeil grounded into a forceout, Alonso scored on a wild pitch.

Manaea allowed a one-out double to Nolan Arenado in the bottom of the inning, but he retired the next two batters to strand him.

The Cardinals threatened again in the third inning after Pedro Pages hit a leadoff single and Tommy Pham knocked a two-out single to left. But Manaea struck out Willson Contreras to evade danger.

Manaea stranded two more runners in the fourth inning, striking out Pages after Alec Burleson and Brendan Donovan hit two-out singles.

The Mets increased their lead to 5-0 in the fifth inning. McNeil singled with one out, advanced to second on Francisco Alvarez's single and scored on Harrison Bader's double.

After Francisco Lindor walked, Taylor cleared the bases with his three-run double.

McNeil's sixth-inning homer to right pushed New York's lead to 6-0. It was his 10th long ball of the season.
